Welcome to CoffeeByte! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Agreement") govern your access to and use of the CoffeeByte mobile application ("Application", "Service", or "App"), created and developed by muditsen ("we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using CoffeeByte, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download, install, or use the Application.

1. License & Permitted Use

We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and limited license to download, install, and use the Application strictly for your personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes on a compatible mobile device owned or controlled by you.

You agree not to:

  • Modify, translate, adapt, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of the Application.
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Application or any portion of its puzzle content.
  • Bypass, disable, or tamper with any security features, DRM protections, or ad-serving mechanisms within the App.
  • Use automated tools, scripts, bots, or cheats to manipulate game progress, XP, daily streak counts, or leaderboards.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights in CoffeeByte—including but not limited to the game code, graphics, 3D visual assets, puzzle layouts, user interface designs, audio, logos, trademarks, and branding elements—are and remain the exclusive property of muditsen and its licensors.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights or intellectual property title in the App or any related assets beyond the limited license explicitly granted above.

3. Local Storage and Game Data

CoffeeByte is designed primarily as an offline-first puzzle experience:

  • Local Data: All your gameplay statistics, level completions, star ratings, XP, daily streak history, and preferences are saved locally on your device.
  • Data Loss & Transfer: Because your data is stored locally, uninstalling the Application, clearing application data/cache, or losing/changing your device may result in permanent loss of your save data. We are not responsible for lost save files or game progress.

4. In-App Features & Third-Party Services

The Application may integrate with third-party platforms and services to deliver enhanced functionality:

  • Platform Services: Downloads, updates, and platform features are subject to the respective terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Advertisements: The App may feature optional rewarded advertisements (e.g., provided via Google AdMob) allowing users to unlock specific content such as historical daily puzzles. Third-party ad providers handle their own content and network requests in accordance with their privacy policies.
  • Analytics & Diagnostics: Performance monitoring tools (e.g., Firebase, Sentry) may be utilized to track app stability and crash reports.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Application will function uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that defects will be corrected immediately.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MUDITSEN OR ANY AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNATIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF SAVED PROGRESS, DEVICE MALFUNCTION, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.

7. Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, update, or discontinue the Application (or any feature thereof) at any time, temporarily or permanently, with or without prior notice. We also reserve the right to revise these Terms & Conditions whenever necessary.

Your continued use of the Application after any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and muditsen regarding CoffeeByte.
